Aloxe-Corton “Beloix” | Côte de Beaune
2006
After the success of the 2005 the Janny family have let us have all the 2006 vintage—only 75 cases—from the tiny Beloix vineyard of 1/2 hectare. The 2004 and 2005 vintages sold out very quickly indeed so we don’t expect this to last long. This is wonderfully rich, ripe, very fine red Burgundy that is drinking well now and will continue to improve for another 5 years. The 2006 vintage is very good indeed. We would have taken 10 times this amount had it been made. A spectacular tiny parcel of great red Burgundy that would normally command a far higher price—exceptional value.
Our tasting notes
In a word: delicious. Pale ruby classic Pinot colour with luscious chocolate, burnt ripe fruit, smokey aromas. Fully ripe, soft, fruit-filled Pinot, beautifully balanced. It is just reaching peak maturity now and will drink really well for at least another 7 years. A real treat.Wine data
