Domaine Eugenie Carrion | Chablis
2009
We have hunted for two years for a really good Chablis (rather than a 1er cru) which is a cut above the mediocrity of most Chablis and Petit Chablis. We finally stumbled across this lovely, crisp offering from the small, family owned Domaine Eugenie Carrion. High quality Chablis at a very affordable price.
Our tasting notes
Attractive pale gold in colour packed with typical crisp, citrusy flavours, which burst on the taste buds and long, mouth-filling fruit flavours which linger. Great mineral flavours that beg for a dover sole or a dozen oysters.Wine data

About Chablis
The name Chablis is as synonymous with dry white wine as Champagne is with sparkling wine. The region has the two elements that make great wines—the ‘terroir’ and the climate. The ‘terroir’ in Chablis is Kimmeridgian limestone—a prehistoric deposit of fossils and oyster shells, which give the wines their minerality and green grass complex flavour. The Climate in Chablis is cold and has a long growing season for its Chardonnay grapes (it is 100 miles north of Beaune, the Burgundian capital of Chardonnay that also benefits from the same cold climate/long growing season).
