Margaux | Margaux Bordeaux
2006
Following on from the stunning Margaux 2005 we have managed to secure a parcel of all the Margaux 2006 that was made—declassified wine made from a famous Château in Margaux. The 2006 is again a very serious, high class Claret, that at this price is an unmissable bargain. The 2006 vintage in Bordeaux was ‘very good’ (Robert Parker) and the wine, while already approachable, has at least a decade to go—if not more. Highly recommended—without reservation!
The Press
"Made with grapes from an estate that produces one of the world’s most sought after wines. Produced with the same passion—it is at €23.95—miraculously affordable."—Jonathan Ray, Daily Telegraph
Our tasting notes
Deep, brooding purple with a remarkable fruit filled nose of red berries, blackcurrants and spices. Surprisingly soft and approachable with superb balance, structure and acidity as one would expect knowing where it came from. It shows its true potential if opened an hour or so before being drunk or decanted. Delicious. Very good claret in every respect.Wine data

Notes About Margaux
Margaux is one of the most prestigious and characterful of the Haut-Médoc appellations. In the best vintages the major Châteaux in this region produce wines that combine a dark ruby colour, elegant structure and superb concentration with a silkiness and fragrance that is not found elsewhere in Bordeaux.
