The Press
'This wine is powerful, warm and mature, demonstrating an excellent expression of fruit on the nose and palate. 91 Points.' —Jose Peñin (the Robert Parker of Spain), Sibaritas June 2008

'just concentrate on enjoying this beautiful wine. A dense red with wild strawberry notes and a creamy, pannacotta oakiness, it’s a mere hint of the stellar wines the company sells—an impressive, modern take on modern Spain from one of the world’s most interesting winemaking families.' —Joe Fattorini, Glasgow Herald
Our tasting notes
Classically dark red garnet and bright with soft mellow fruit flavours. A delicious mouthful of rich, ripe fruit—sophisticated and well-balanced. Cherries and summer fruit. The second glass is even better. Very high quality, well made wine. This is a wine that unfortunately will be very much more expensive when it gets the recognition it deserves and surely will (his cousin Peter Sisseck makes Pingus, now one of the great—and very expensive—wines of the modern world).

About Extremadura and Anders Vinding-Diers:
Anders Vinding-Diers began as a cellar hand alongside his father Peter Vinding-Diers (see our Sicilian wine La Famiglia) at Château de Landiras and Domaine la Graves in Bordeaux—from there to Chile, Italy and Tokai where he has made exceptional wines.

In Extremadura, the wine-making tradition dates back to Roman times although modern production is still in its infancy. Extremadura, which lies in the southwest of the Iberian Peninsula, sandwiched between Portugal and the central plains of La Mancha, is one of Spain's most sparsely-populated regions, largely because its mountainous landscape has historically proven so hard to extract a living from.

This rugged and hostile terrain inevitably makes for fascinating wines which are full of character.
