Père Anselme La Reserve de l’Aube
Vin de Pays d’Oc Syrah-Merlot
2010
Excellent value, easy drinking Syrah-Merlot based red from the Languedoc with a great bouquet that can be matched with any meal, or just as easily drunk on its own. A star in the 2010 Le Guide Hachette des Vins. Punches well above its weight.
The Press
‘You wouldn't normally blend the rich scented Syrah with the softer, milder Merlot—but this works. The wine is very warm and round, positively lush in its spiced plum sauce and stewed cherry way, but there’s a bit of tannin there too and it all makes for a good, self–indulgent red.’— Oz Clark, 250 Best Wines, Wine Buying Guide 2011Our tasting notes
Deep ruby colour with a lovely notes of cherry, raspberry and blackcurrant and vanilla. Full bodied with good, rich fruit, smooth tannins and a very decent finish.Wine data

About La Reserve de l’Aube
The vineyards were established in 1929 by the grandfather of the current owners and was completely modernised in 1990. The vineyard is 46 Ha in size and is made up from a mosaic of terriors all on a plateau at an altitude of 130m above sea level. The vast Languedoc appellation, covering most of the south of France, with 32,000 vineyards produces 80% of France’s table wine. Wine has been made here since at least 135BC. Some of France’s best value wines are to be found among the smaller growers.
