About Montalcino
Located in the province of Siena overlooking the valleys of the Orcia, Arbia and Ombrone Montalcino is one of Italy’s most renowned appellations, famous for its highly rated and often extremely expensive Brunello.

The appellation has three denominations of origin: Brunello, which must be aged in oak for a minimum of 2 years and spend at least 4 months in bottle; Rosso di Montalcino, a younger wine that is only required to spend six months aging in oak and 1 year total aging before release, and the Moscadello di Montalcino, which is a sweet sparkling wine.

Rosso di Montalcino wines have the structure of their more senior Brunellos but combine it with a greater freshness and vivacity. Unlike Brunello, which can be aged for decades, these wines are perfect for drinking within 10 years of the vintage year.
