A unique parcel of declassified wine from one of the most famous St Julien super seconds that normally sells for £1000+ a case (and whose 2008 was rated 96–98 by Parker). A beautifully made top Claret from the first rate 2008 vintage at a price that we ordinary mortals can all at last afford—in other words ‘spectacular value.’

Our tasting notes

Intense dark ruby with very high class concentrated fruit, great balance and acidity. An exceptionally long finish. Approachable now with a good decade ahead of it.

About Saint-Julien

As Jancis Robinson says “St Julien is the commune for wine connoisseurs who seek subtlety, balance and tradition in their red Bordeaux.” Situated on the left bank St Julien is the smallest of the 4 most famous Haut-Médoc appellations. Despite this it boasts five superb second growths (most famously Ducru Beaucaillou, Léoville-Las-Cases and Léoville Barton), two really excellent third growths and four very good fourth growths.

 

Prices are all-inclusive for deliveries within the Republic of Ireland. Minimum total order is 1 case (12 bottles of 75cl equivalent) and may be mixed 2 cases (24 bottles of 75cl equivalent) of your choice.
